About the French cliché: La baguette

Bonjour a tout le monde! Hello to everyone!

The most legendary French cliché is certainly “la baguette”. During my stay in Paris I went to the Boulangerie (bakery) every morning to get some baguettes, croissants and more delicious French pastries. I totally loved observing the daily morning scenes in Paris. Every single Parisian was holding a baguette and I just had to adopt this French tradition.

My look was usually inspired by Parisian people as well. I wore a lot of classy stuff while walking around Paris. French people like white and dark blue clothes and women like to wear red lipstick. Yes, those clichés are all real!

My personal favorite bakery/ pastry shop in Paris is: Maison Desgangres

Their five stores are located in: 6 Rue de Passy 75016 Paris, 36 Rue du Docteur Blanche 75016 Paris, 68 Rue Jean de la Fontaine 75016 Paris, 5 Rue Pierre Demours 75017 Paris

Short language guide (to order something in a Parisian bakery):

1. “Bonjour! Je voudrais une baguette, un pain au chocolat et deux croissants au beurre s’il vous plait = “Good morning! I’d like to have one baguette, a chocolate croissant please and two croissants.”

2. “Désirez-vous autre chose?” / “Oui,  ça sera tout?” =“Would you like anything else?”/ “Yes, is that everything?”

3. “No, ca bien! Merci beaucoup et bonne journée.” = “No that’s all! Thank you so much and have a nice day.”

La boulangerie = The bakery / La pâtisserie, La confiserie = The pastry, cake shop

Le pain = The bread / L’éclair = A glazed pastry speciality / Le macaron = Another typical French pastry / Le madeleine = A small French butter cake / Le quiche = A salty French cake  with different fillings, for example with spinach or salmon.
