Located in the artistic Oltrarno district, a neighbourhood filled with antique stores and old artisan ateliers, Palazzo Guadagni brought me to a movie set, waking up with a view onto the most beautiful Florentine architectural monuments, such as the Duomo or the Palazzo Vecchio.
Serendipitously, the creative twenties spirit and allover artistic atmosphere never seemed to have died but rather to have survived until today, thanks to the owner’s wish of preserving bygone aesthetics, inspired by Slim Aarons’ nostalgia.
Similarly acclaimed might have been “la maestra”, which used to reside at “La Scuola Comunale”, located in the remote town of Lusiana, in the Vicenza hills, back in the 1920s. Located in between the mountains, close by the historical spa city of Merano in Italy’s region of Alto Adige, the country residence’s history is almost as long and rich as the one of Merano itself. A document from 1920 bears witness to the existence of a country property known as Psorengütl located just outside the city wall. By the 16th century the name changed to Ottmangut and the property became one of five such farmhouses in the area.
The greatest stay in Paris would be nothing but a dreamy library. In the heart of the charming Marais district, located right next to Marché des Enfants Rouge, which counts as one of the oldest and historical markets in Paris, you will find the lovely concept hotel “Paris Boutik”. The surroundings seem to be made for the flaneur.
