Franz Fromm and his rare art collection at Villa Freischütz

As soon as entering the villa, I entered a world of wonders, feeling almost like an old romantic movie in black and white including loads of aesthetic scenes. Indeed I have experienced an intense connection with the arts and its former owners, while strolling through the well-decorated living rooms.

During my stay in Amsterdam, I had the chance to visit one of the most stunning villas: Museum Van Loon, which used to be the residence of the merchant family of Van Loon.

After risking her life spying on the Nazis, day after day, four long years, Rose lived to fulfill her destiny: locating and returning thousands of works of art stolen by the Nazis during their occupation of France.
